What I Do
I provide individual, group, couple, and family therapy for those struggling with disordered eating (anorexia, bulimia, compulsive overeating, exercise addiction, chronic dieting, and any distressing relationship with food). My method is largely cognitive behavioral therapy, which involves looking at the relationship between thoughts, emotions and behaviors.
Who I Am
I believe that complete recovery and freedom from disordered eating is possible for anyone who sincerely desires that freedom. A key to recovery is understanding the different roles the eating disorder plays in one’s life. It’s about the food and it’s not about the food. The actual relationship with food and accompanying behaviors needs to be addressed as well as the deeper underlying issues that have led to the disordered eating.
